ABOUT CENTRAL CHURCH

God is the Creator and Ruler of the universe. He has eternally existed in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. These three are equal and are one God.

Jesus Christ is the son of God. He is one with the Father. Jesus lived a sinless human life and offered himself as the perfect sacrifice for the sins of all people by dying on the cross. He arose from the dead. He ascended to heaven. He will return again to judge the living and the dead here on earth.

The Holy Spirit is one with the Father and Son of God. He is present in the world to make men aware of their need for Jesus Christ. He also lives in every person from the moment of salvation. He provides followers of Jesus with the power for living, understanding of spiritual truth, and guidance in doing what is right.

The Bible is God’s word to us. It was written by men, under the control, instruction, and supernatural guidance of the Holy Spirit. It is the only source of truth for followers of Jesus’ beliefs and living. It is true in all that it affirms about God, humanity, and the world in which we live.

We believe that the blood of Jesus Christ, shed on the cross, provides the only way for the forgiveness of sin. God freely offers salvation to those who place their faith in the death and resurrection of Christ as sufficient payment for their sin. Salvation cannot be earned. It is a free gift from God.

People were created to exist forever. We will either exist eternally separated from God by sin, or eternally with God through forgiveness and salvation. Heaven and Hell are real places of eternal existence.
